Acupuncture has emerged as a complementary approach to improve fertility outcomes, particularly in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies. Research highlights its role in enhancing pregnancy and live birth rates during in vitro fertilization (IVF), serving as a substitute for HCG in ovulation induction, and improving uterine blood flow through electro-acupuncture. Additionally, acupuncture’s influence on pregnancy success rates, its regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, and its benefits for women undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) underline its potential as a supportive treatment in reproductive medicine. These studies collectively showcase its promise in addressing infertility challenges.
